The Scott Joplin International Ragtime Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation of Joplin's contribution to ragtime music, along with the historic importance connected with Sedalia, Missouri. The Foundation produces the popular and long-running Scott Joplin Festival each year in Sedalia.

Sutter Creek is no longer the only old Western town to host a ragtime festival. The
Durango Ragtime & Early Jazz Festival is a new event held in March
based in the historic Strater Hotel in Durango, Colorado. For three days, the hotel will be filled with the sounds of old ragtime tunes and the beginning of early jazz entertainment by an assorted group of the best ragtime entertainers in the world &mdash' from young to seasoned and spirited to swanky. Festival goers will also enjoy informative and fun education sessions given by the entertainers, dance lessons, silent movies accompanied by live ragtime music, dueling pianos, after-hours parties, food and festivities, and more, including a Farewell Sunday Brunch in the Diamond Belle Saloon.

The
Charles Templeton Ragtime/Jazz Festival is held every March
on the Mississippi State University campus. Sponsored by the University Library and the Charles Templeton Sr Music Museum, the festival
serves as a means of enhancing research in the area of ragtime music, and introducing people to the sounds of ragtime
being performed by world-renowned ragtime musicians. The festival features a blend of concerts, seminars and tours of
the museum. The university also maintains a sheet
music digital archive which contains a large amount of ragtime music that you can download for free.
