About the Mother Lode Ragtime Society:  Founded in 1999 following the success of the First Ever Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival, the Mother Lode Ragtime Society's primary purpose is to ensure that all pianos and miscellaneous instruments in and around this picturesque Gold Rush town issued ragtime music. To join the Mother Lode Ragtime Society, simply attend a jam session. If you don't perform at the piano or on a fiddle, banjo, tuba, washboard, gut bucket, cow bell, or other instrument of choice, you're expected to at least tap your toes, spoons, coffee cups, ice cream dishes, children, and/or spouse in a syncopated fashion. No fee. Donations for postage gratefully accepted.

Jam sessions are generally held the third Saturday of every odd month (Jan - Mar - May - July - Sept) from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Sutter Creek Ice Cream Emporium, 51 Main Street (Hwy 49), Sutter Creek, CA.   This is subject to change, so check the front page for announcements of future meetings.

The Society produced the Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival for 20 consecutive years from 1999 to 2018, plus special concerts.
